Tutoring

Empowering women through digital and business tools.

The Problem:
In Latin America, the rapid advancement of new technologies, coupled with the region's socioeconomic inequalities, has created a significant gap in digital skills, particularly impacting women in vulnerable contexts.

This population, and especially women, has been identified to lack the necessary skills and competencies to use business platforms and also face challenges in essential tasks for their activities, such as using a computer, managing basic finances, and making electronic payments.

Solution:

In partnership with Instituto Natura, Eidos created Digital Tutoring, a program specifically designed to empower Latin American women entrepreneurs by strengthening their digital skills for both professional and personal growth.

Implemented in Chile, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico, the program included specialized tutor training to support participants and a curriculum covering everything from employability and socio-emotional skills to digital competencies and personal finance.

The Learning Experience

Curriculum

The program curriculum ranged from basic skills like creating and managing an email account, effective use of WhatsApp Business, video call connectivity, security practices and password management, to more advanced skills such as managing business profiles on social networks, online data security, creating and editing visual content for social platforms (including strategies to promote products), personal marketing, publication planning, developing sales profiles, basic use of tools like Canva for creating promotional material, and managing a YouTube channel.

Format

The program lasted 2 years and included a training phase for trainers and a final training phase for female participants. The first was designed to prepare 50 tutors in the 5 countries who would then conduct the second phase, imparting the synchronous training sessions for  the women in the community. We also developed a platform with practical content and a permanent support system for the tutoring teams.
